Sackmire - Mary Mitchell

KINGMAN- Mrs. Mary Sackmire, 84, died Saturday morning in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital at Danville, Ill. where she had been a patient 10 days. Mrs. Sackmire had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Hoover, at Danville when she became ill. Born Sept. 2, 1880 in Parke County, she was a daughter of William and Martha Monroe Doss Mitchell. She married Albert Sackmire, who died several years ago. Mrs. Sackmire was a member of the Centennial EUB Church. Survivors include the daughter with whom she had been visiting and three other daughters, Miss Mae Sackmire of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Doris Wallace of Dallas and Mrs. Mildred Grannan of Indianapolis; two sons, Harold of near Kingman and Lloyd of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Jess Holland of near Marshall; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Lex; two brothers and four sisters. The body was brought to Woodrow Funeral Home here. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sackmire Cemetery five miles east of here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday. - kbz
